A photo exhibition celebrating the 70th anniversary of Tibet's peaceful liberation opened on Wednesday in Lhasa, Southwest China's Tibet autonomous region.

The exhibition displays more than 200 photos taken across a span of seven decades, showing the tremendous social development, remarkable achievements and happy lives of people from various ethnic groups in Tibet since the region's peaceful liberation in 1951.

The exhibition, which is free to the public, will last seven days. An online version of the exhibition was also launched on Wednesday.
