The 2025 Forum on the Development of Xizang, China, is being held in Nyingchi, Xizang autonomous region, from Oct 27 to 30, set against a stunning autumn backdrop.

The region's vibrant, multi-hued forests and majestic snow-capped mountains are providing a captivating setting for domestic and international guests.

Held under the theme "Discovering a beautiful Xizang and writing a new chapter on the plateau", experts and guests from more than 40 countries and regions have gathered to discuss how to develop distinctive local industries and expand Xizang's global influence while preserving its natural beauty.

Today, Xizang is actively promoting unique sectors such as plateau agriculture and animal husbandry, cultural tourism, clean energy, green industries, and Tibetan medicine, with a strong focus on aligning with international market demand. In addition to exploring new growth pathways for these industries, the low-altitude economy emerged as a recurring topic throughout the forum.

Professor Huang Tao from Shenyang Aerospace University shared his insights on the low-altitude economy, noting that Xizang should capitalize on its unique plateau airspace resources and ecological advantages to pioneer new models for low-altitude economic development in high-altitude areas — particularly in low-altitude tourism, smart logistics, and emergency rescue services.
