For Pierre Mirochnikoff, vice-president of the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China, the 2025 Forum on the Development of Xizang, China marked his third visit to the autonomous region, but his first in an official capacity. Unlike his previous trips as a traveler, this time he came seeking deeper cooperation between Xizang and the Benelux countries — Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.

During his visits to local villages, he was deeply impressed by how farmers and herders have improved both their material and spiritual well-being through cooperatives (organizations where farmers and herders work together to produce, sell, or manage resources, sharing both profits and benefits).
