On the slopes Nyainqentanglha Mountain in Chamdo's Palbar county, Xizang autonomous region, a breathtaking natural wonder lies at an altitude of about 4,500 meters.
Known as the Gongga blue ice cave — the largest of its kind in China — the site has emerged as a dream destination for adventurers and photographers.
The cave gained nationwide attention in early 2023 after a short video showcasing its surreal beauty went viral online. Since then, it has been hailed as one of eastern Xizang's most stunning hidden landscapes.
Inside, glowing blue ice walls curve into natural arches, while an underground river roars through the frozen chamber. Layers of ancient ice, formed over thousands of years, create an atmosphere that is both tranquil and sacred.
