A glossy ibis has been spotted at the wetlands in Samdrubze district, Shigatse, Xizang autonomous region.
The glossy ibis is classified as a first-class nationally protected wild animal in China and is considered critically endangered. Its population in the wild is exceedingly rare, even rarer than that of the giant panda.
Wang Jianpeng, a photography enthusiast, observed the glossy ibis on May 10 while passing through the wetlands.
Under the sunlight, the bird's plumage displayed a stunning array of metallic hues, including purple, green, and copper, earning it the nickname "Rainbow Fairy".
