The 5th China Xizang Trans-Himalaya Forum for International Cooperation opened in Nyingchi, Xizang autonomous region, on July 17, bringing together officials, experts, and representatives from multiple countries and regions and international organizations to discuss green development and regional cooperation.

Myanmar Vice-President Nan Ni Ni Aye, Nepal's Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Rupa Kumari, Wang Guangqian, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Wang Junzheng, secretary of the Communist Party of China Xizang Autonomous Regional Committee, delivered remarks at the opening ceremony.

Wang Guangqian emphasized that the forum has become an important platform for regional cooperation since its launch, facilitating exchanges in areas including environmental governance, green development, and cultural dialogue.

Wang Junzheng said the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, known as the "roof of the world", plays a vital role in global climate stability, water security, and biodiversity conservation. He said Xizang will continue to pursue green development, strengthen environmental protection, and work with regional partners to build a sustainable ecological community.

Under the theme of promoting green development and building a beautiful homeland together, this year's event includes a main forum and four sub-forums on plateau climate change and ecological security, the high-quality development of plateau tourism, sports cooperation in plateau areas, and environmental health.
